Invisacook Invisible Induction Cooktops

Invisacook is an invisible, under-mount magnetic induction cooking device that uses electromagnetic waves to cook food. It is used by placing the food on a metal plate, then placed in the device. The device emits waves that cause the food to vibrate, which generates heat and cooks the food. Invisacook can be used to cook various types of food, including meat, vegetables, and pasta. With this appliance, you can cook directly on your countertop. The device differs from other electric cooktops and ranges in that you can use more of your countertop material for work surfaces, and the range surface does not factor into the overall aesthetic of the room.

How does an invisacook unit work?

To be honest, it works a lot like magic. The history of induction cooking can be traced back to the early 19th century when scientists began experimenting with electricity and magnetism. In 1831, Michael Faraday discovered that when an electric current is passed through a coil of wire, it creates a magnetic field. This discovery led to the development of the first induction cookers in the late 1800s. However, these early cookers were inefficient and could only be used for small tasks like heating water or melting chocolate.

Today's Invisacook offers precise cooking, making the cooking process seamless. You can use the reliable manual controller, again, seamless, or use the wi-fi and Bluetooth technology for your compatible smartphone or other devices. Compatible cookware is still required, so aluminum and copper require much adjustment, and copper requires much higher frequencies than available currently.

An induction cooktop uses electromagnetism to heat up metals that are conductors of electricity. When an alternating current flows through a coil of wire, it creates a magnetic field. If a piece of metal is placed in this magnetic field, it will generate eddy currents, or tiny swirls of electricity, in the metal. The resistance of the metal to these eddy currents creates heat, which cooks the food.

How does it work, and what benefits does it have over typical induction cooktops?

  • Invisacook/s invisa-induction process and technology allow the appliance to be mounted underneath the countertop. The invisibility of the device leaves your granite and ultra-compact porcelain the star of the show.

  • A professional fabricator mills a 1.5cm space so that energy passes through the material, leaving electromagnetic frequencies to generate the heat and cook food.

Will my countertop get hot?

  • Risers are designed to raise your pan ever so slightly off the surface, keeping radiant heat from building up and passing back to the stone granite and the ultra-compact porcelain surface options, Dekton, Laprtec, or Neolith. Kitchen countertops do not experience direct heat and are safe to use with care and caution. Surfaces may be mildly warm to the touch.

  • Please note that you must use a ferrous pan, like cast iron or stainless steel pots and pans.

  • The Invisamat, a silicone mat, is used to assist in the location, keep metal from touching your countertop, and avoid scratches.

  • Using advanced technology, an audio indicator will stop when your pan connects. You'll feel with this occurs.

Which Kitchen Countertop Options are Suitable and What countertops will not work with InvisaCook?

Counterspace is always at a premium, and allowing the cooking area to perform double-duty makes the most sense; however, not all countertop materials are suitable for an Invisacook. Invisacook specifically notes on their website, "We recommend two materials be used with invisacook: the all-natural stone granite that is milled to 1.5cm in the area of the cooktop and the ultra-compact porcelain material that is 12mm thick (Dekton, Sapienstone, Infinity Surfaces, etc.) We have spoken with the manufacturer directly, and they have indicated that they will, in fact, warranty Neolith as a material. - Again, the manufacturer specifically recommends porcelain. Many manufacturers have started putting research into certification. Please note compatibility on the packaging.

Unsuitable options include:

  • Quartz

  • High Nickel content will block proper use - certain mineral content will block the magnetic energy

  • Solid Surfaces

  • Wood

  • Corian

  • Marble, soapstone, limestone

  • Paperstone or paper-based counters

  • Laminate or Formica Counters

This still leaves a wide variety of different countertop colors and options.

What are the benefits of invisible stovetops?

If you spend both time and money finding the perfect countertop for your kitchen, removing a portion of it to fill in with a range does not enhance the overall beauty and functionality of the room. Instead, the seamless kitchen has the appliance hidden beneath the surface so that you can enjoy the maximum amount of counter space.
